How to prevent centrifuge tube cracking in refrigerated centrifuge
When we look at the causes of cracking of centrifugal tubes, most of them are human factors：
1.The test object with unbalanced load placed in the symmetrical sleeve hole needs to be connected with a centrifuge tube in the laboratory, and the net weight is adjusted by a balance to achieve balance. If only one test tube is used to put the test sample, water must be put into the symmetrical test tube for balance, otherwise the instrument and equipment will fluctuate during centrifugation and the test tube will crack. It is very easy to ignore that the centrifugal cup with horizontal turning back will be out of balance after long-term application or replacement, so the centrifugal cup should be balanced. For example, it is not very easy to remove the common fault of tube cracking of a centrifuge which has been used for more than 10 years. Later, it was found that four centrifuges were overweight, and the common fault disappeared after changing the balance weight.
2.If the acceleration is too fast, the centrifuge tube will crack easily.
3.If the speed ratio of the centrifuge is too high, the test tube will crack if the centrifugal force exceeds the capacity of the centrifuge tube.
In order to better avoid cracking of the centrifuge tube, special attention should be paid to:
1、After the application of refrigerated centrifuge, it is necessary to balance each position of centrifuge tube, mobile carrier of centrifuge tube, sunshade cap and cover, protective cover and tube sleeve on the scale with high precision in advance. When balancing, the difference of net weight should not exceed the range required by the operating instructions of each centrifuge. Generally, the net weight of pipe sleeve and protective cover is marked. Pay attention to balance the pipe sleeve and protective cover of supporting facilities in the whole process. The raw materials centrifuged in the balance tube are filled with similar raw materials. For example, centrifuging bacteria from the planting base can be balanced by running water. But cesium chloride cannot be balanced by water.
2、The odd number of centrifuge tubes must not be loaded in the rotor of ultra-low temperature centrifuge. When only part of the rotor is loaded, the centrifuge tubes must be symmetrically placed in the rotor to make the load evenly distributed around the rotor.
3、When loading the water solution, it is necessary to carry out according to the detailed operation guidelines of various centrifuges. According to the characteristics and volume of the water solution to be centrifuged, suitable centrifugation tubes should be selected. Some centrifugation tubes have no cover, and the liquid can not be loaded too much, so as to prevent the rotor from being thrown out during centrifugation, resulting in imbalance, rust or erosion.
4、After centrifugation, the rotor shall be cleaned and dried with warm boiled water. Generally, it is sufficient to clean with water. Do not soak the rotor in the detergent. The cleaned rotor is put in the indoor temperature after wiping. When the rotor is not needed for a long time, it should be coated with polish wax for safety protection.
